If Meshuggah wasn’t already the heaviest bill in town, it fkn is now.
The Swedish extreme metallers have just doubled the brutality of their forthcoming Australian tour by announcing one of the heaviest bands in town as their official support act: Thy Art Is Murder.
The Western Sydney extreme metallers will be lubing up the stage at four of the band’s five Aussie tour stops, including a newly announced second Melbourne date on Tuesday, 4th March.
Sorry Perth, you miss out this time.
Thy Art recently released a crushing new original tune dubbed They Will Know Another off their joint EP with US deathcore giants The Acacia Strain and Fit For An Autopsy.
It marked their last recording to feature frontman CJ McMahon, who quit back in December, with the band recently touring with superstar sub Lochlan Watt AKA headbanger-in-chief at triple j’s The Racket filling in on vocal duties on their OS dates.
No word yet if he’ll be manning the mic for the band on the Meshuggah tour as well, but from the looks of this recent Instagram post, he seems pretty keen:

Meanwhile, Meshuggah will be coming to our shores armed with their new record The Violent Sleep of Reason, which marks their first studio effort since 2012’s Koloss.
Speaking about the band’s Aussie visit, drummer Tomas Haake reckons metalheads will “get something that they don’t really hear in any other bands”.
“We’re not trying to write your average metal song. We’re not trying to write catchy songs. We’re not trying to write hit songs,” he laughs. “We’re just trying to write something that is cool, that we haven’t heard before, and hopefully our fans haven’t heard before.”
