Swedish metal heads Meshuggah have named their new album Koloss, which will be released on March 26.
The album is the first studio release for the band since 2008’s well-recieved Obzen.
Drummer Tomas told Stereoboard the group was excited by the direction their music had taken for the upcoming release.
“As always, we try to take our music in a slightly different direction with each album and with Koloss we feel that we really nailed what we were going for,” he said.
“Organic brutality, viscera and groove all crammed into a 54-minute metalicious treat, best avoided by the faint of heart!!”
The band will be unleashing their fury at Soundwave around the country in February and March – so maybe we’ll see a few new songs included in their sets.
