Metallica Are Doing ‘Carpool Karaoke’ With Billy Eichner For Apple Music

Metal icons Metallica are set to star in their own episode of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke, where they’ll be hosted by actor, comedian and Billy On The Street host Billy Eichner.

As Variety reports, ‘Tallica are set to appear on Apple Music’s new half-hour standalone Carpool Karaoke series, which has spawned from the uber-popular segment on Corden’s Late Late Show. The new series doesn’t have a release date yet, but Metallica have been confirmed as guests, and they’ll probably have Billy scream at them a few times during their episode, which has garnered some positive reactions…

…and some not so positive ones:

As it turns out, ‘Tallica have already filmed at least some of their Carpool Karaoke segment, after they were spotted singing ‘Enter Sandman’ with Eichner and some deli staff at a local supermarket in December.

Other pairings so-far confirmed for Apple Music’s Carpool Karaoke series include John Legend hosting Alicia Keys, Seth MacFarlane hosting Ariana Grande and former NFL star Michael Strahan hosting NASCAR drive Jeff Gordon.

The series will consist of 16 half-hour episodes, with Corden as an Executive Producer. It’s also being plugged as more of an interview series than a longer version of the ‘Late Late Show’ bit. Corden will also continue to do Carpool Karaoke on his show now and then.

Meanwhile, Metallica are rumoured to be preparing to tour Australia later this year, in support of their latest album, Hardwired… To Self Destruct.
