A tribute for late Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell is being held early next year, and will feature performances from Foo Fighters, Metallica, Ryan Adams and more.
The concert, titled I Am A Highway: A Tribute To Chris Cornell, will be held at Los Angeles’ The Forum on Wednesday, 16th January 2019. It will also feature performances from the remaining members of Cornell’s bands, Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple Of The Dog.
The event will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and proceeds from the tickets will go to The Chris & Vicky Foundation as well as The Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.
There’s no word if the event will be streamed or aired at any point just yet, but if you’re keen to venture across the Pacific Ocean for this one-of-a-kind commemoration of one of modern music’s greatest minds, tickets go on sale this Friday.
This also could mark the last ever performance of Soundgarden, as the band’s guitarist, Kim Thayil, said that he thinks it is unlikely the band would ever perform again. It’s great to see they’ve made an exception for this very special event.
