Michael Franti & Spearhead have announced their return to Australia, just over a year after they last performed in the country. The band have announced a pair of headlining shows: One at The Tivoli in Brisbane on Saturday November 16th, and another at Sydney’s Enmore Theatre on Wednesday, November 20th. In addition to his headlining shows, Franti will also appear with Spearhead at this year’s Queenscliff Music Festival in Victoria. They are the first act to be officially announced on the festival program, which will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of November. Franti & Spearhead will headline the festival’s opening night. Franti first toured Australia in 1993 at that year’s Big Day Out with his previous band, the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy. He would later return in 1995 with Spearhead, and has performed in Australia consistently with them since then – in fact, per Setlist.FM, Australia is the country that they have performed in the most outside of their native United States.
A pre-sale for Franti and Spearhead’s Togetherness headlining shows will go live at 10am AEST on Thursday May 30th. A general sale will then follow on Monday June 3rd, again from 10am AEST. Both are available via Frontier Touring’s official website.
