Michael Franti’s Soulshine Mini-Festival Locks In Australian Dates

Soulshine, the mini-festival developed by musician Michael Franti, will makes its Australian debut in April 2015. The music and yoga-infused event will take place not only at Bluesfest 2015, but also in venues in Melbourne and Sydney.

Soulshine will feature performances from Franti and his band Spearhead, as well as reggae outfit SOJA and singer-songwriter Trevor Hall. There will also be an optional one-hour yoga session before each four-hour concert, open to all ages and abilities. Each session will feature acoustic grooves from Franti and his guitarist Jay Bowman.

According to Franti himself, Soulshine is an uplifting musical celebration. “The Soulshine Festival is about coming together to celebrate life — the life of our planet — and the power we all have to make a difference,” Franti said.

Michael Franti & Spearhead will tour Australia beginning in late March 2015, with more dates still to be announced.

Soulshine will take place at Bluesfest on Monday, 6th April, as well as in Melbourne on Thursday, 2nd April and in Sydney on Sunday, 5th April. Tour and ticket details are available below.

UPDATE 18/02/15: Michael Franti’s Melbourne Soulshine concert has seen a venue change, with organisers citing logistical challenges for the switch from Festival Hall to new venue the Prince Bandroom. The concert will take place on the same day, and tickets labelled with Festival Hall will remain valid for the new venue.

SOJA will only perform at the Sydney leg of Soulshine, and have added a third performance at Bluesfest to their schedule, performing on the Jambalaya stage on Thursday, 2nd April. View updated tour details, below.
