Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen And More Pay Tribute To Rock ‘N’ Roll Legend Chuck Berry

Chuck Berry passed away this weekend at age 90 and now fellow musicians have started paying their respects to the music icon.

Berry was one of the earliest purveyors of rock ‘n’ roll and was said to be a big influence for ’60s rock bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

Keith Richards and Mick Jagger of the latter band have taken to Twitter to share how influential Berry was for them.

“He lit up our teenage years, and blew life into our dreams of being musicians and performers,” Jagger wrote.

Richards added, “One of my big lights has gone out,” while the band as a whole shared a statement to say they were “deeply saddened” to hear of his passing.

Meanwhile, Bruce Springsteen called Berry, “rock’s greatest practitioner, guitarist, and the greatest pure rock ‘n’ roll writer who ever lived.”

Ringo Starr, Slash, Brian Wilson and more have also paid tribute to Berry in the wake of his passing.
