Miley’s ‘Wrecking Ball’ Smashes Lorde Off Top Spot Thanks To Parody Video

After an impressive nine weeks atop Billboard’s Hot 100, Lorde‘s Royals has been knocked of its throne by Miley CyrusWrecking Ball, reclaiming its reign with a little help from a Chatroulette parody video that went viral.

The viral smash by YouTuber Stephen Kardynal, features the comedian lip-synching to the song while playing out parts of the original video (including swinging on a wrecking ball in his kind-of birthday suit) to an unsuspecting audience on the Chatroulette. The video shows viewers’ reactions on the left side of the screen, totally enhancing its entertainment value.

But it’s not all bad news for 17-year-old Lorde, with the announcement the New Zealand singer will perform at the Grammy Awards nominations special on Friday in Los Angeles. She’ll play amongst other breakthrough artists like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis for the one hour special to be hosted by rapper LL Cool J.

Robin Thicke will be joined by T.I. and members of Earth, Wind & Fire to perform Blurred Lines plus Keith Urban will take the stage with R&B singer Miguel to sing Bill WithersAin’t No Sunshine.

No word yet as to whether Kardynal will appear for a special performance of his viral smash, but we should all watch it again regardless.
