Miss Kaninna Shares Thumping New Single, ‘Pinnacle Bitch’

Rising singer/producer Miss Kaninna has released the follow-up to breakout single, ‘Blak Britney’, called ‘Pinnacle Bitch’. The track follows a slew of high-profile performances at festivals and showcases like BIGSOUND and SXSW Sydney, and it was created and produced alongside Finn Rees (30/70, Close Counters) and Jacob Farah (Dallas Woods, Jerome Farah).

“I wrote this song when I had people wishing bad on me and talking shit while also watching me very closely…. Obsessed vibes,” the Yorta Yorta, Djadja Wurrung, Kalkadoon, and Yirendali artist shared about the track. “‘Pinnacle Bitch’ is for the ones who like to shake their shit and not give a fuck and take care of themselves.”

“I wanted people to feel sexy when they sang the words; this song is for literally everyone who has ever had people talk shit about them for doing them,” she continues. “It’s for the baddies.”

The singer/rapper goes on to say that having a positive reaction to her first single ‘Blak Britney’ really pushed her along in her songwriting. “After releasing ‘Blak Britney’ it really hit home that Black women really appreciated being appreciated,” Kaninna says.

“Women from as young as 6 up to the aunties and grandmas have reached out to me or talked to me about how they love the song, and that made it all worth it. Also, it’s not a Miss Kaninna song without saying ‘Fuck you to the government and the people who uphold the systems in place to oppress Black people’.”

Miss Kaninna will be appearing at a stack of festivals over the coming months, including Beyond The Valley, Sun Cycle, Valley Fiesta, HAYDAYS, and Victoria’s ALWAYS LIVE.
