Singer-songwriter Missy Higgins has announced an extensive national tour in support of her recently announced covers album OZ, which will be released in September alongside a book of essays. Higgins’ OZ tour will make its way around the country this September and October.
According to Higgins’ official website, her run of OZ shows will be her only shows for at least 12 months, with the singer expecting a baby in early January. During the tour, Higgins is set to play both songs from OZ, as well as her own original material.
Supporting Higgins on her OZ tour will be singer-songwriter Dustin Tebbutt (appearing at all shows except Darwin and WA) and frequent Amanda Palmer collaborator Jherek Bischoff, who co-produced OZ.
OZ and its accompanying book of essays, which uses the titles of album tracks as thematic starting points, is set for release on 19th September. Listen to Higgins’ cover of The Drones‘ Shark Fin Blues, which appears on OZ, below, alongside an official “Making Of” video detailing the album’s creation.
Missy Higgin’s OZ tour begins at the Cairns Civic Theatre on Saurday, 20th September, and wraps up in Higgins’ hometown of Melbourne on 29th October. General public tickets go on sale this Thursday, 14th August. Full tour and ticket information is available below.
