So, if you were like me and found yourself laying in bed on New Year’s Day listening to the pumpin’ jams and screams of joy coming from The Domain – don’t feel too sorry for yourself, it gets worse. According to The Herald Sun, more than 150 people have been arrested for drug-related offenses at yesterday’s Field Day festival.
Out of the 14,000 in attendance, 153 were nabbed by a Passive Alert Detection (PAD) dog unit. Included in the plethora of illicit substances were LSD, ice, coke, weed, ecstasy and other various amphetamines. Major arrests of the day included that of a 24-year-old man from Cromer, who was caught with 33 ecstasy pills.
On top of that, 68 people were ejected from the event for being too drunk, and two criminal infringement notices were handed out on account of offensive behaviour.
Simultaneously at Summadayze in Melbourne, around 80 people were arrested for similar offenses.
