Morrissey Bans Blogger For Life, Insists On Meat Searches

Another day, another story about Morrissey doing something a bit strange. The other day it was the former Smiths singer getting bitten by a dog, and now a couple of separate incidents at concerts have catapulted the 52-year-old back into the headlines.

First up, as Spinner report, the webmaster of www.morrissey-solo.com, David Tseng, was thrown out of a gig in Copenhagen after security guards allegedly said to him chillingly, “you know what you did.” Morrissey reserves a special loathing for the website, and once sported a t-shirt on stage reading, ‘Fuck Morrissey-solo.com’.

Tseng is now banned from attending Morrissey shows for the rest of his life, with a spokesperson saying, “Mr. Tseng via his poisonous website has caused so much intentional distress to Morrissey and Morrissey’s band over the years that Mr. Tseng is not welcome at any Morrissey shows.”

In the meantime, the Daily Mail broke a story yesterday (July 13) that fans attending a concert in Middlesbrough in the North-East of England were subjected to searches to ensure no one was bringing any meat into the venue.

A fan said, “A member of the security staff then went through my bag and told me that they were checking to make sure that I was not carrying any meat products inside.”

A spokesperson for the venue said of the incident, “It is a pat-down and we ask people to take drinks in plastic containers. I did not know they were stopping sausages being taken in – that is a bit random.”
