Prog rockers hailing from deep within the Austrian Alps, Mother’s Cake, will make their first ever visit to Australia in February 2014. They’ll be showcasing tracks from their debut record Creation’s Finest, out in Australia next month, including single Soul Prison which features Ikey Owens from The Mars Volta on keyboards.
The trio have trekked down the Austrian countryside and taken the European live circuit by storm many times since their inception in 2008. They’ve recently supported the likes of Iggy and the Stooges, Velvet Revolver, The Deftones, Omar Rodriguez Lopez Group and more, cleaning up audiences and critics alike.
They’ve also written music that featured in director Henning Backhaus’s film Local Heroes, about the upsurge of a young band (much like themselves), which premiered at 62nd Berlin International Film Festival in 2012. Now Australian audiences across Adelaide, Ballarat, Geelong, Melbourne, Canberra, Wollongong, Sydney and Brisbane will get a chance to see their unique Austrian Mother’s Cake brand of funk, progressive and psychedelic tunes.
