Rock gods Motörhead have announced today that they will be releasing their own brand of beer. Aimed at all those who gain a thirst from rocking hard, the beverage will be called Bastard Lagar.
Brewed in Sweden’s Krönleins brewery, the beer can be bought online by the caseload from Swedish online liquor company Systembolaget. “You’re never too old for rock ‘n’ roll and good chilled beer. That always works well together!”, says MOTÖRHEAD drummer Mikkey Dee, according to the Brand For Fans website. Said to be best served chilled with a juicy burger on a summer evening, Bastard Lagar joins a whole range of alcohol made on behalf of the band.
Others include Motörhead Shiraz, over a quarter of a million bottles sold, and Motörhead Vodka. Coupled with their music catalogue, you have everything you need to have a pure Motörhead party. The beer is the bi-product of the recent partnership between the band and Brand For Fans. A spokesperson from the company Yvonne Wener commented on the product saying, “Motörhead Bastards Lager is a gloriously fresh and fruity beer with a wonderful character of light malt. It’s easy to drink but has a hard rock edge. It’s perfect for all those occasions when you feel that craving for a cold beer such as those summer barbecues and picnics, naturally with music pumping at full blast through the loudspeakers.”
Decorated with the Motörhead logo, the drink, which is 4.7% alcohol, will be easy to spot. This is great news for fans of the genre who have seen Motörhead ensure they rock right, and now ensuring fans party right.
