Motörhead guitarist Phil Campbell has confirmed that the surviving members of the band are planning to play some “special shows worldwide” with some big special guests, in tribute to their late frontman Lemmy Kilmister.
Speaking on the ‘Rock Talk With Mitch Lafon’ podcast this week, Campbell said a set of worldwide shows are “on the cards”, but it’s “just gonna be a few select shows”.
“We’re not gonna be touring with it. We’re gonna get these people involved and [we have to be mindful of] their schedules as well,” he said.
“We’ll just do some special shows worldwide, which will be good — a tribute to Lem and to the band maybe, yeah. But it wouldn’t be an ongoing thing; everyone’s too busy. But [we want to] do something special. We’re still trying to work on that now.”
Motörhead officially disbanded in 2015 following the death of Kilmister in December of that year, following a battle with prostate cancer, a cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure.
Kilmister’s last-ever solo song, ‘We Are The Ones’, was released late last year.
