Mountain Sounds Festival Locks In First Act For 2017

UPDATE 27/10/16: Festival organisers have revealed the full 2017 lineup for Mountain Sounds, featuring RÜFÜS, DMAs and more.

UPDATE 10/11/16: Mountain Sounds have added some “special guests” to the lineup in the form of Hermitude and unveiled their Magic Mountain party details.

ORIGINAL STORY: New South Wales Central Coast festival Mountain Sounds is returning in 2017, and they’ve just locked in their first act — raucous rock kids Dune Rats.

After selling out the past two years, Mountain Sounds is returning for its fourth year in January, and Dune Rats will no doubt get you pretty excited about its return, even if it is still a few months away.

Organisers have made it clear that Dune Rats won’t be the only act on the bill for very long. They’re set to drop the entire festival lineup next Thursday, 27th October, and if previous lineups are anything to go by, it’s going to be huge.

Alison Wonderland, Safia, The Strokes’ Albert Hammond Jr., Violent Soho and DZ Deathrays have all been featured on past lineups. Next week, all will be revealed, but until then you can get excited about seeing Dunies in all their glory in the middle of summer.

The band are currently touring around the world, so their Mountain Sounds set will be somewhat of a homecoming celebration. Plus, they’ve teased a new release for late 2016 or early 2017, which means new material will likely be flowing.
