Brisbane’s MR MAPS are one of my favourite Australian bands. They play instrumental mathy-indie-rock and they do it damn well.
They’ve just announced an East Coast tour celebrating the release of a new split 7″ with fellow Brisbanites HUNZ. The tour is also a fond farewell to their amazing drummer Jacob Hicks (also frontman of The Re:enactment) as he heads overseas.
They really are a band worth seeing – especially if you’re a fan of bands like Toe, sleepmakeswaves, Vasudeva, Battles or Megastick Fanfare.
Listen to their new single Those Boards Don’t Walk On Water here.
See Mr Maps on tour in July and August.
