In the middle of their set of Groovin The Moo appearances and fresh off a killer Sydney sideshow last night, MS MR dropped into the triple j studios this morning for Like A Version.
The New York-based duo performed a cover of Swedish pop group Miike Snow‘s huge 2016 hit track Genghis Khan off their recent album iii.
The cover kicks off with a dark, spacey synth in a rhythm-less introduction, beneath some super soulful vocals from Lizzy Plapinger, before MS MR kick into a keyboard and synth-heavy beat. Highlights include their emotive, stripped back take on the bridge of the track and some unexpected but awesome backing vocals from Max Hershenow.
