Illinois nu metal crew Mudvayne will play a bunch of Australian headline shows in February 2024. They’re bringing along their old pals and nu metal contemporaries Coal Chamber for the five-show excursion, which includes dates in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Details below.
Mudvayne were active from the mid-90s until 2010, during which time they released five studio albums. The quartet of vocalist Chad Gray, guitarist Greg Tribbett, bass player Ryan Martinie and drummer Matthew McDonough reunited in 2021 and have since toured extensively around the US.
Mudvayne – ‘Dig’
Mudvayne last visited Australia in 2006 in support of their third album, Lost and Found. Coal Chamber were here for the 2012 Soundwave tour, appearing on a lineup that also featured Bad Religion, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit and Marilyn Manson.
In early 2022, Coal Chamber’s original bass player, Rayna Foss, was reported missing. Foss had apparently been missing since September 2021, according to the New Orleans Police Department. However, just days after the story went viral, Foss’ daughter, Kayla Rose, contradicted the reports, confirming her mother was not missing.
In any case, Foss has not been a member of Coal Chamber since 2002. The band’s current lineup features vocalist Dez Fafara, guitarist Miguel Rascón, bass player Nadja Peulen and drummer Mike Cox.
