The folks at MUM have finally cleared the hangover from their third birthday party celebrations last week, and they’re back to their usual antics this Friday night, putting on another eight indie bands and a whole bunch of indie DJs to keep you partying till the wee hours.
Here’s what they’ve got planned for this week:
Melbournians are pretty popular at MUM and we have one of their best this week with Tik Tok Tokyo (TTT) stopping off on their Lands album tour to play their experimental sounds.
Before our headliners, locals, The Vignettes will change things up like a punch in the face as they bring their version of punk to MUM. White Bats have made Sydney their home and have been dominating both SOX (South of Oxford St) and NOX (North of Oxford St) venues with gigs at OAF, Dr Pongs and The Gaelic and are now rocking the MUM band room this Friday. Then we finish up with Radio National who are not an ABC radio talk show but a killer Sydney rock band doing their first week of their 2am late set residency for May.
Up in MILF The Bell Weather Department twist things up with their kaleidoscopic rock, The Love Parade march out tracks from their upcoming new album, Brisbanites Charlie Mayfaire also have new tunes from a freshly released folky sounding EP and Blonde Sovereign are sure to make the crowd play sardines as their hordes of fans pack into the tiny room that is MILF.
May is going to be bigger than Grants monthly bar tab for La Discoteca with a list of very special guest DJs alongside Mexican party machine 16 Tacos. This weeks guest is Thomas Huggz from Wedding Ring Fingers.
And of course there are all of our regular indie DJs getting more drunk than you but still managing to keep the party rolling.
