Muse have been offered the chance to be in charge of their hometown of Teignmouth in the UK for a day.
NME reports that the local council have given the popular UK rock trio the opportunity after they ran through the town with the Olympic Torch earlier this year.
In the video below, Jeremy Christophers, who is leader of Teignbridge District Council, says that he has extended an open invitation to Matt Bellamy and bandmates Dom Howard and Chris Wolstenholme to come back and take over the town.
Speaking on the day Muse ran with the torch, he said: “We had Muse here today. They’re the biggest rock band on the planet. I’ve invited Matt Bellamy and the band to come in and run the council for the day.”
Muse will release their new album The 2nd Law on September 17. The album contains a total of 13 tracks and includes their latest single Survival, which is the theme song for the London 2012 Olympic Games that kick off on Friday.
