Queens Of The Stone Age sure know how to promote an album – namely by revealing an impressive list of collaborators one by one and, on occasion, publishing oblique, cryptic messages that have little to do with said album. Well, the QOTSA camp have once again secretly released another somewhat confusing letter, this time in an advert in Uncut Magazine.
The Uncut letter has made its way online thanks to Chuck Hipolitho, who posted a pic of the page on his Instagram account. Much like the band’s previous letter to MOJO Magazine, the correspondence to Uncut is a little weird, but does seem to offer some insight into QOTSA’s upcoming album.
The new letter says the new record will be ‘raw’, suggestion less production, and that the themes of the album are a “honest reaction” to the band’s experiences of 2012. Whether that means there will be some songs dealing with the Josh Homme’s recent dramas surrounding Kyuss Lives! is unclear.
Whatever the case, QOTSA 6th studio album is currently the most anticipated release of 2013. Earlier this week it was revealed that lineup from 2002s Songs For The Deaf had reunited for the new record.

Dear Uncut,
If you find a way to embrace the chaos of life, that chaos can become your biggest inspiration. If the above sentence is true, we were REALLY inspired during the making of this record and realized: the best trick of all, is no trick at all. So the songs are very raw and an honest reaction to out last year. We can’t seem to write about the past or future ’cause we’re so chained to the moment. Almost dialled 999 couple months back, now everything runs like clockwork. So, um… Will you come pick us up at the bus station…?
Hurry we’re freezing,
Queens of the Stone Age
