New Details Emerge In Controversial Rapper XXXTentacion’s Murder

More details have surfaced in the death of controversial rapper XXXTentacion.

The 20-year-old MC, real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was fatally gunned downed as he was leaving a motorbike dealership in Broward County, Florida on Monday, 18th June.

Now, in a sworn affidavit obtained by the New York Times, Detective John Curcio of the Broward Sheriff’s Office reveals that XXXTentacion’s killers tracked him to the location.

Detailing evidence taken from video surveillance, Curcio tells how Onfroy arrived at Riva Motorsports in Deerfield Beach at 3:30 pm on Monday, with an unidentified friend.

Two minutes later, two men got out of a dark sport utility vehicle and followed the rapper into the store, with one of the men buying a mask at the parts department and paying cash.

The pair then left the store and parked their car at the north gate of the parking lot, blocking XXXTentacion’s exit.

When the rapper tried to leave, the two men — both now masked and armed — stepped out of the car and “demanded property”.

“After a brief struggle, the victim is shot,” Detective Curcio writes.

The assailants then removed a bag from XXXTentacion’s car and drove off.

22-year-old Dedrick Devonshay Williams has since been charged with first-degree murder in relation the rapper’s death, after being arrested during a traffic stop on Wednesday.

Employees of the motorbike dealership also ID’d Williams — a tattoo artist who appears to have ties to the local rap scene — from photographs, while police also matched photos on his Instagram with the bright orange shoes that the killer was wearing during the murder.

Williams has been refused bail to front criminal court on Monday.

Meanwhile, the music world has offered mixed reactions to XXXTentacion’s passing, given his controversial past. Spotify has also copped backlash for promoting his music following his death, after previously removing his music from all of its playlists.
