New Order Announce 2025 Australian Tour

New Order have announced their return to Australia, playing a series of shows across the country in March 2025. The tour comes almost exactly a half-decade after the band were last in Australia, which was cut short due to the UK electronic veterans unwittingly timing their tour with the rise of COVID-19 globally – which stopped the band from playing live for some 18 months. The full list of tour dates, as well as pre-sale and ticketing information, can be found below.

“It’s an honour to be coming back to perform in one of our favourite places,” the band wrote in a press statement announcing the tour. “We sadly had to cancel a Melbourne show in March 2020, as a consequence of COVID, and are so happy we can come back to play again. We’ve always loved playing in Australia and are excited to be returning for a run of very special shows in 2025. Good things come to those who wait!”

Activity for New Order has been minimal since they were last in Australia, outside of touring and appearing at Primavera Sound in 2023. They released one new standalone single, ‘Be A Rebel’, in November 2020. No further new material has surfaced since, however. The band’s former bassist, Peter Hook, toured Australia back in May with his band The Light. On the tour, The Light performed Substance by both Joy Division and New Order in their respective entireties.
