For 35 years straight, the streets of Newtown, Sydney have exploded with action during Newtown Festival and 2013 will be no different, with Dappled Cities, NZ’s Home Brew and The Snowdroppers all set to grace the stages at Camperdown Park.
Come Sunday, 10th November some 20 odd acts will be performing across 3 stages at the beloved Camperdown Memorial Rest Park, including the aforementioned acts as well as rising stars Palms, Shining Birds, Oscar Key Sung, She Rex and…uh oh…Gay Paris. Things are going to get messy.
Organisers behind the totally free, community-inspired event have unveiled one of their most impressive live music lineups to date, showing tremendous growth from humble beginnings to an event frequented by more than 80,000 people.
Understanding the cultural significance of the event, all of the talent have agreed to perform for free, much like The Whitlams, Hermitude, Sarah Blasko and Blue King Brown before them.
Newtown Festival raising and funds for Newtown Neighbourhood Centre, a community organisation. Punters are encouraged to dig deep for the cause, which was established to lend a hand to disadvantaged and vulnerable community members.
You can find the event’s full lineup and ticketing information below. Donations can be made after the jump or on the day.
