Nick Cave & his Bad Seeds compadre Warren Ellis are inviting you to come hang out next Friday night for a special livestreamed event.
They’ll be joined by a bunch of special guests for a live chat & listen-along session of the soundtrack to the 2012 American crime drama Lawless via Bad Seed TeeVee, a continuous 24/7 YouTube stream of videos, concerts, interviews, film, and more from the world of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.
Lawless, a movie starring Tom Hardy & Shia LaBeouf and based on Matt Bondurant’s book The Wettest County In The World, was adapted for the screen by Cave himself and tells the true story of the Bondurant Brothers in Prohibition-era Virginia, whose bootlegging operation brought them into a terrifying collision with the law and rival gangsters.
Cave and Ellis’ compelling score to Lawless included covers and collaborations with some of America’s greatest voices, including Ralph Stanley, Emmylou Harris and Mark Lanegan, as well as three original songs (‘Cosmonaut’, ‘Fire In The Blood’ and instrumental ‘End Crawl’). The recordings were backed by The Bootleggers, a band formed by Cave and Ellis during the soundtrack sessions.
The livestream event, dubbed ‘COLD CASES’, will see Cave and Ellis joined by a bunch of their long-time friends and collaborators, as well as the film’s director John Hillcoat and photographer Polly Borland, as they reflect on the movie and its score.
It’s all happening on Friday, 9th October at 8pm AEST.
