Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds keyboardist Conway Savage is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour, the band has revealed.
In a statement, the Australian outfit report that the veteran Bad Seed is recovering from a major surgery to have the growth removed.
“Many of you have noticed the absence of Conway Savage from this Summer’s North American tour and from the current European tour,” Cave & co. write.
“Conway was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent an operation just before the start of the North American shows. The operation was largely a success and he is currently at home in Australia undergoing follow-up treatment.”
The bands add: “I’m sure you’ll all join us in sending our beloved Conway lots of love & very best wishes. We are missing him enormously. We send him all our love and thoughts.”
Savage has been a member of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds for almost 30 years, and was part of the band’s huge Australian tour earlier this year before being sidelined due to ill health.
