Music icons Nick Cave and Iggy Pop have joined forces for a new animated PETA video which urges people to “be the person your dog thinks you are”.
Cave contributed the Black Seeds’ song ‘Breathless’ to the ad, while Iggy appears as an animated figure taking on baddies who are attempting to do wrong by various animals.
Iggy saves everything from rabbits to turtles, acting as a superhero for the voiceless. In the end it turns out that it was all a dream his dog was having, because his dog obviously thinks he’s a hero, which is all kinds of cute.
You get to see both Iggy and his dog share a moment together at the end IRL, with the cartoon Iggy confined to the dog’s head. Also, it’s pretty sweet being a dog if every time they dream they get to hear Nick Cave music.
Iggy has a long history with PETA, while Cave is relatively new to the organisation. They join other musicians like Paul McCartney, The Black Keys, Sia, Morrissey, and Chrissie Hynde who have all been previously involved.
