UPDATE: FOMO Festival Announces 2019 Lineup Feat. Nicki Minaj, Rae Sremmurd & More
ORIGINAL STORY: Nicki Minaj (real name Onika Tanya Maraj) has revealed plans to tour Australia in January 2019, off the back of her latest album Queen.
Minaj told fans of her Australian tour plans after postponing her North American tour with Future, which will now take place in May of next year.
In a video posted to Twitter and Facebook overnight (below), Minaj explained the changes to her tour, saying, “I still am gonna do Australia in January, and this is all happening because I pushed my album back two months, and I just finished writing and recording literally hours before the album came out.”
In an Instagram post, Minaj also confirmed Australia will be part of her Queen tour, telling fans to expect multiple “dates”.
Minaj last toured Australia in 2012, when she performed in Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth after postponing an Australian tour which was due to take place earlier that year.
Given that Minaj now plans to be in Australia in January, it could put her in the running for spots on New Year’s festivals like Sydney’s Field Day, and maybe even Falls Festival.
Minaj released Queen earlier this month as the follow-up to her 2014 album The Pinkprint. The new album features the singles ‘Chun-Li’, ‘Bed’ and ‘Barbie Dreams’.
