Brisbane music fans are getting a brand new music event to sink their teeth into with the announcement of the arrival of Phone Down.
A one-night only event focusing on local hip-hop and electronic acts, Nina Las Vegas will be taking on headlining duties for its inaugural run.
She won’t be taking on the night alone though. Joining her at the top rank will be hip-hop collective No Money Enterprise. Other acts on the bill include Zheani, JamesJamesJames, Creed Tha Kid, Dameeeela and Homoc1d3.
Phone Down will be taking place at Brisbane’s iconic Fortitude Music Hall on Sunday, 8th August.
The event’s producer and programmer, Sian Van Der Muelen (aka Miss Blanks), explained what she wanted to achieve with the brand.
“I’m really excited to be able to announce this event series. It was really important to the team and I that we built an event brand that was fun, engaging, sonically pushed boundaries, highlights some of this country’s best local talent, and is financially accessible given the COVID impact to the local and wider (music) community,” she said.
“Phone Down is debuting in Brisbane but is set to roll out nationwide over the next year, and I’m looking forward to see it blossom into something big!”
