After a nostalgic return last week, Triple J Like A Version has again delivered the goods again today, with Noah Dillon stepping into the hot seat to take on HAIM’s hit The Wire.
Backed by a 4-piece band, Dillon and co. injected a rocky dose into the already rollicking anthem, topped off by some serious vocal pipes courtesy of the singer/songwriter.
“I just love HAIM as a band – they encapsulate everything I love about songwriting,” he said with regards to the cover.
“Once I delved into the lyrics I realised how clever and rhythmic they are with their writing.
“I’m a big fan and listening to a song and thinking why do I love that song…what parts of it hit me?'”
For his original, Dillon pulled out popular cut Alive and Kicking, proving he has the goods to put on a serious live performance, which he’s been proving at a handful of recent live dates on the West Coast supporting his EP Don’t Change For The World (Like It’s Changing Me).
