Noel Gallagher Has Responded To Liam Gallagher’s Claim He Turned Down £100m Oasis Reunion Offer

Earlier this week, Liam Gallagher sent off a pair of tweets claiming that brother (and former Oasis bandmate) Noel Gallagher had turned down an £100 million offer for the defunct Britpop act to reunite.

“We’ve been offered 100 million pounds for a tour still not enough for the greedy soul oh well stay young,” wrote Liam on Twitter yesterday.

Minutes earlier, he’d tweeted “We’re getting back together Noel Gallagher being minted and rich as fuck he’s doing it for nothing me being a desperate cunt and have fuck all else going for himself I’m doing it for the cash c’mon you know.”

Noel has now taken to Twitter himself to dispute his brother’s claims, telling “whoever might be arsed” that he is “not aware of any offer from anybody for any amount of money to reform the legendary Mancunian Rock’n’Roll group Oasis.”

He did, however, get a dig in as to the motives behind such claims, saying “I am fully aware though that someone has a single to promote so that’s maybe where the confusion lies.”

Pretty much business as usual for the long-sparring brothers, then.

Oasis, of course, split up back in 2009 largely as a result of rising tension between the Gallagher collaborators, with their final album being Dig Out Your Soul the year prior.

In the years since, both have gone on to separate projects – Liam with Beady Eye and solo work, Noel with his act High Flying Birds.

Throughout that time, questions and rumours regarding the possibility of reunion have continued to follow them. Liam has seemingly raised the idea of reconciliation and reunion a few times, however, a decade since Oasis’ dissolution, it seems less and less likely that the pair will take the stage together again.
