Noel Gallagher has announced his return with the High Flying Birds with the third record Who Built The Moon?
The album is his first taste of new music since 2015’s Chasing Yesterday and he’s announced it alongside a trailer for the album which features clips of new music.
The record is sounding like it’s going to be a psychedelic turn for Gallagher, and producer David Holmes has backed that up saying in a statement that it’s full of “placid instrumentals, hypnotic, eastern-influenced grooves, gutsy balcony-shakers and widescreen, cinematic walls of sound”.
The record is due out at the end of November, just a little over a month after the release of his brother Liam Gallagher’s debut solo album As You Were.
Liam has already taken the chance to hit out at Noel’s new album, tweeting, “Psychedelic music by a beige drip is like a vegetarian trying to sell you a kebab.”
He added, “It takes more than wheeling out your old mate uri geller and har mar superstar to make a so called out there record snoozer.”
You can make up your mind for yourself by listening to the trailer for the album below. Noel has also announced a world tour, but there are no Australian dates just yet.
