Northlane have issued an update on their next album, reporting that the writing process is almost done and dusted.
“Last week of writing album 5,” the Western Sydney metalcore lords tweeted this arvo.
New stuff sounded huge at good things

The band also retweeted a fan, who remarked that their “new stuff sounded huge” at Good Things Festival earlier this month.
Not only did the band perform their heavy new smasher ‘Vultures’ live at the East Coast-roaming rock fest, they also treated fans to a yet-to-be-released track dubbed ‘Talking Heads’ (below).
Speaking with Wall Of Sound at the festival, frontman Marcus Bridge revealed that fans can “absolutely” expect “double the screaming” on the follow-up to 2017’s Mesmer LP, now that bassist and backing vocalist Brendon Padjasek has joined the ranks (following the departure of the group’s founding bassist Alex Milovic back in October).
“Yeah it’s cool,” he said. “So we just did that last Euro Tour and it was really cool just how our voices blend together and just having someone else to pick up some of the slack for some of the vocal stuff, its been a gamechanger.”
While we wait for new Northlane material to drop, you can check out fan-shot footage of the band’s unreleased track ‘Talking Heads’, taken at Good Things Festival’s Melbourne leg, below.
