A new trailer has arrived for the documentary Oasis Knebworth 1996. The film is coming to cinemas worldwide on Thursday, 23rd September.
To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Oasis‘ legendary two-night stand at Knebworth Park, just north of London, we can now ogle at the full-length trailer for Jake Scott’s upcoming Oasis Knebworth 1996 documentary.
Pulled together from extensive reels of concert film and behind the scenes footage, much of which has never been seen before, Scott’s film is deemed a celebratory look at “one of the most important concert events of the last 25 years.”
In true Oasis style, the 110-second trailer doesn’t hold back on hagiographic statements. It opens with someone yelling, “This is history – right here, right now,” while other fans comment that “You had to be there,” and the “energy pulsating through the crowd was unbelievable.”
“Life couldn’t have got any better,” says one of the band’s then-partners. “I’ve got my boyfriend, I’ve got a lukewarm, semi-flat, plastic beaker full of lager and I’m singing my heart out.”
The trailer includes snippets of many of Oasis’ biggest hits, including ‘Roll With It’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Morning Glory’ and ‘Some Might Say’. ‘Live Forever’, of course, brings the clip to a close.
Oasis Knebworth 1996 will be in cinemas on Thursday, 23rd September and tickets are available here. A live album and DVD/Blu-ray of Oasis Knebworth 1996 will be released on Friday, 19th November via Big Brother Recordings Ltd. Check out the Gallaghers in their best sweaters below.
