Get ready to Google ‘flights to New Zealand’, because the Kiwi nation’s Rhythm And Alps festival has just dropped its self-proclaimed “best lineup yet”.
Joining previously announced headliner Tash Sultana at 2017’s NYE bash will be Kiwi faves Fat Freddy’s Drop, Australia’s Ocean Alley, Swedish electro outfit Little Dragon, R&B soul wave funk queen Nao and her 11-piece band, New York’s Cigarettes After Sex (making their NZ debut) and around 45 other incredible acts performing on three stages across the two-day festivities.
Festival director Alex Turnbull reckons the lineup is probably the most diverse and notable of any festivals in NZ this year.
“We are showcasing some of the best festival acts which we have hand-picked from around the globe,” he says. “We’ve also secured some top NZ-made acts who are excited to come to Wanaka and perform in the mighty Southern Alps.”
Another round of acts is also set to be added to the lineup next month, so stay tuned for even more surprises.
“We’re really excited about this year’s lineup – its general appeal is reflected in the record ticket sales we’ve had so far,” Turnbull adds.
“It’s the best place to be in NZ for New Year’s; awesome music, immaculate stage production, amazing weather and a relaxed atmosphere all make for a world-class festival. We’re definitely expecting another sell-out.”
Rhythm And Alps 2017 will go down at the South Island’s Cardrona Valley across the last few days of December.
