Ocean Grove have shared a new single, entitled ‘My Disaster’. It serves as their second new track of 2024, following their return back in May with the track ‘Fly Away’. The song was produced by drummer/guitarist Sam Bassal, with the songwriting credits also including the band’s original lead vocalist Luke Holmes.
In a press statement, Dale Tanner – originally the band’s bassist, who took over as lead vocalist following Holmes’ departure in 2019 – described the song as “doubling down on Ocean Grove’s definitive nu-metal sound”. “With a theme that we’re no strangers to, this track delves further into the mental highs, lows and chaos inherent to the human condition,” he said. “It hits hard, but with an emotional awareness for our listeners to adopt.”
An accompanying music video has also been shared for the single, which was created by the Melbourne-based creative collective The AV Club and shot in the city’s Noise Complaint Studio. “Visually, it highlights the external and internalised battle between both extremes of the emotional spectrum,” said Tanner of the clip – which can be viewed below.

Ocean Grove’s most recent studio album, Up In The Air Forever, was released in April of 2022. It marked the band’s first studio album as a trio, following the departure of guitarist Matthew Henley in 2021. It featured the single ‘Bored’, which saw the band collaborate with Dune Rats. The band are currently wrapping a regional Australian tour with Polaris, and will perform at this year’s Big Pineapple Festival on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland.
