Of Mice & Men Frontman Austin Carlile Reveals Severity Of His Illness: “I’ll Never Get Better”

Of Mice & Men frontman Austin Carlile has taken to Twitter after clearly becoming frustrated with continued complaints from fans regarding shows which have been cancelled due to his ongoing health issues. In a series of tweets, the vocalist has laid out the severity of his situation, pointing out that his condition is something he will never recover from.

Carlile has been going through treatment for a well-documented condition called Marfan Syndrome, which attacks the body’s connective tissue. As a result, the band has had to cancel tour dates all over the world. Most recently, their scheduled performances in Australia alongside A Day To Remember and Tonight Alive were cancelled, and a replacement act brought in.

Clearly, that wasn’t okay with some fans. In the nicest way possible, Carlile has instructed them to STFU, commenting, “All of you saying I should hurry up & get better what’s taking so long. I’ll never be better. you happy?,” adding that rather than getting better, his main goal is to simply “get by”.

Since being diagnosed, Carlile has had operations on his “Foot, ear, rib, head, hip, back, & heart”, explaining that the condition affects the whole body and clarifying that “IT. IS. PAINFUL.”.

No doubt this will successfully shut all the entitled fans the fuck up. Catch Carlile’s latest string of tweets, below.
