Rock The Bells festival has never been a small affair. The iconic hip-hop festival has some serious pulling power, so much so that for the 2013 leg of the event, the legendary rappers Ol’ Dirty Bastard and Easy-E will be returning from the grave just to perform.
The two have been selected to as key features for the event, something that would seem like the stuff of a fevered dream had Tupac not appeared at Coachella last year. Organisers will be incorporating the same holographic technology to beam Ol’ Dirty Bastard in with the surviving members of Wu Tang Clan who will be performing. Easy-E will appear on stage with collaborators Bone Thugs N Harmony.
It seems the organisers didn’t blow their entire budget on the hologramed rappers. The rest of the line-up is quiet impressive with Big K.R.I.T., Black Hippy (Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Jay Rock), Tyler, The Creator, Common, Earl Sweatshirt, Kid Cudi and Talib Kweli also performing.
Rock The Bells will travel through California, Washington and New Jersey this coming September and October.
