Olivia Rodrigo‘s skyrocket from semi-celeb to bonafide superstar has hit another tier, with her debut single ‘Drivers License’ debuting atop the Billboard Hot 100.
The mammoth song was released on Friday, 8th January, and now has become the first debut single to debut on the Billboard Hot 100 since ZAYN did it with ‘Pillowtalk’ back in 2016.
“Number one on the billboard charts,” Rodrigo wrote on Twitter, celebrating the accomplishment.

In addition, this week also saw the single debut at #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart, the first debut single to do so since Harry Styles‘ ‘Sign Of The Times’ in 2017.
Last week, ‘Drivers License’ broke the record for most single-day Spotify streams in 24 hours by a non-holiday song. The next day, it broke its own record again.
