Only About 1 In 10 People Who’ve Voted In The Hottest 100 So Far Are Over The Age Of 30

You’ve got less than two weeks now to get your votes in for triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2021.

Voting closes at 12pm AEDT on Monday, 17th January and it seems a girthy portion of the station’s listeners might be twiddling their thumbs when it comes to getting involved in the countdown.

According to the latest stat check from triple j‘s weekly Sunday sesh The Tally Room with Dave Ruby Howe, a whopping 85.5% of the votes lodged so far are from listeners aged under 30 — that’s almost 9 out of every 10.

Now, while that might not seem like such a big deal given the station’s target demographic is 18-24 year olds, the most recent stats from media.info show the amount of triple j listeners aged between 25 and 39 actually outnumber those in the younger age bracket almost 2:1.

So it seems, despite a lot of over 30’s tuning into the j’s on the reg, not many have actually been fucked getting their Hottest 100 votes in yet.

If that’s you, best get a wriggle on, if you want to minimise the number of “ya joking! Should have been higher’s” you holler at your UE Boom on Saturday, 22nd January (that’s the date of the big countdown for those playing at home).

Happy voting!
