Our Last Night Ignore Own Advice, Share Mash-Up Of “Songs We Should Never Cover”

Our Last Night and their series of covers have been the talk of the post-hardcore town for the past few months, and it appears the band are well aware of their association with the art form. Overnight, they went hell for leather, dropping an anthology of songs that, apparently, should never be covered.

Despite the aptly titled banner of Songs We Should Never Cover, dammit, some some of these still work.

Yes, various songs exist that simply cannot, or should not, be covered for many reasons. Maybe, they inspired a generation to party their worries away a la Blur’s Song 2, or maybe they inspired a generation to think outside the box provided by them by those in charge, soundtracking a mass shift in the social mindset a la Venga Boys’ We Like To Party.

Yet, Our Last Night went there with both. 15 songs all up are included in the clip, each getting a few solid bars of air time as a far heavier affair than the original and, for the most part, they sound pretty fucking sweet.
