OXJAM is back for a month-long run of live music events with a conscience. And to kick things off, organisers have just announced a trio of launch bashes, taking place in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
What’s more, each event will be packing a stellar music lineup curated by one of three of the country’s most renowned party starters: I Oh You, TBC and UNDR Ctrl.
First up, Sydney’s show will be going down at Oxford Art Factory on Saturday, 30th July with a wear-white dress code. Masterminded by booking agency UNDR Ctrl – who FYI are also toasting their 2nd birthday – the shindig will feature performances from Roland Tings in DJ mode, Rainbow Chan, the live debut of Third Floor, Purple Sneakers DJs and more, plus a special guest TBA (oooooh!).
The following Friday, 5th August, Brisbane’s TBC Club will be playing host to a roof-raising party with a DIY lineup of local legends, while two states away, Melbourne’s Howler Band Room will be simultaneously pumping with live tunes from The Peep Temple, Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Wet Lips and more, curated by tastemakers I Oh You.
Each event will of course generate much-needed funds for Oxfam, while kicking off a month-long run of DIY music event fundraisers across the nation.
Last year 12,000 partygoers attended more than 180 OXJAM gigs across Aus, raising thousands of dollars for Oxfam Australia’s work to end poverty.
Anyone can get in on the action, and this year OXJAM is even sweetening the deal by offering you the chance to have hip-hop allstars One Day, Brisbane indie-poppers Cub Sport or Sydney’s PVT man the decks at your very own OXJAM event, as well as score merch and tickets to one of their upcoming shows.
Anyone can go in the running to become a bonafide gig-maker and go in the draw to snap up the prizes, all you gotsta do is head to the OXJAM website and register to host your own official OXJAM event.
Meanwhile, ARIA award winners, Megan Washington and Art vs Science have just been named as the first official OXJAM ambassadors, on board to show budding-bash throwers just how easy it is to get involved.
