Always wanted to head to Japan and rock out? Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have come to your rescue.
The metal icon and his wife have announced that they will be bringing his iconic festival Ozzfest to Japan for the first time.
Loudwire reports that Ozzfest Japan will be happening on May 11 and 12, 2013. No bands have been confirmed yet, but an official website has been launched with a video announcement direct from Sharon Osbourne, the festival’s chief organiser.
“Ozzy and I want to tell you that [in] May 2013, we’ll be bringing Ozzfest to Japan for the first time ever,” she says in the video.
“We are so excited. Please be there because we love you, Japan.”
Go to the official website and check out the video here.
The announcement comes after Sharon told Triple M that Ozzy’s band Black Sabbath will be “definitely” touring Australia in 2013. Surely Sabbath will be on the bill for Ozzfest Japan, so maybe this means we’re looking at a late April/early May visit?
Either way, if you’re after a bit of mid-year Asian rock adventure, it could be time to track down a few cheapo airfares to Japan…
