Papa Roach Pay Tribute To Chester Bennington With Moving Cover Of ‘In The End’

US rock band Papa Roach have paid tribute to Linkin Park‘s Chester Bennington with a moving performance of one of the band’s biggest tracks ‘In The End’.

Papa Roach performed the song from Linkin Park’s Hybrid Theory record in Vienna and fans captured the moment on film.

“We love you Chester Bennington, rest in peace my brother,” frontman Jacoby Shaddix said during the performance.

Shaddix has been very open in the past about his struggle with mental health. He told the Associated Press (via Blabbermouth) that things were particularly bad during the recording of the band’s The Connection LP.

“There was a moment in the record where I was suicidal,” he said.

“I was done. I’m like, ‘I’m over this. I can’t do this anymore. I can’t take this pain anymore. Like, I feel so alone and broken and just shattered.”

He continued, “I’ll tell you this about when you’re in that moment and you feel like you want to end it all … you do not think rationally, you don’t think straight. Your emotions, you are just so caught up in the pain. … And luckily I just had these moments of clarity at night or I just thought about what would happen.”

Bennington tragically died by suicide earlier this year at the age of 41. Next month, members of Korn, System Of A Down, Blink-182 and more will play a huge tribute show at LA’s Hollywood Bowl with all proceeds going to Music for Relief’s One More Light Fund, in memory of Chester.

Papa Roach haven’t been to Australia since 2015 but they’re currently teasing a tour for next year although dates are yet to be announced.
