Australian-grown, now Berlin-based quintet Parcels have announced they’ll return home late next year for a handful of shows in support of new album Day/Night.
The band will play four shows in Australia – one in Sydney, one in Brisbane, two in Melbourne – in October and November 2022 as part of a world tour that also includes dates in Europe, the UK and the US.
Day/Night, the band’s second album after their 2018 self-titled debut, arrived last month. The ambitious double album comprised two distinct sections (‘Day’ and ‘Night’) and was previewed with singles like ‘Free’, ‘Comingback’ and ‘Somethinggreater’.
Speaking to Music Feeds about the album last month, drummer Anatole Serret discussed how the songs on Day/Night were recorded with the live show in mind. “From the start of making these records, we’ve realised our strengths and our weaknesses. And playing live is something that people really love us as a band for,” Serret explained.
“We learned all of the songs and were really tight by the time we got into the studio… now we’re in the rehearsal room practising for these shows and all of this time has gone by, so we’re a really well-oiled machine.”
