Paul McCartney And Beck Apparently Aren’t Famous Enough To Attend Grammys Afterparty

Paul McCartney, Beck and Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins apparently weren’t quite VIP enough to get into a Grammys afterparty last night. Clearly Beatles fame and being a five-times Grammy-winning artist, which Beck is, just isn’t what it used to be…

McCartney, Beck and Hawkins, along with actor Woody Harrelson, were captured on video being turned away from rapper Tyga’s (whose?) exclusive event at The Argyle, with McCartney saying, “How VIP do we gotta get? We need another hit, guys, we need another hit. Work on it!”

After some genuinely mortifying confusion, Sir Paul McCartney – multi award-winning Sir Paul of astronomical Beatles fame – walked away with the guy shooting the video saying, “That’s got to be a first ever, man. Sir Paul, the way they just rejected you from the club just now. Where are you going to go? What, that’s crazy!”

It has been reported that the group eventually made it to the Republic Records afterparty on Sunset Boulevard, which was attended by Swifty and core Squad member Lorde, The Weeknd, Alessandra Ambrosio and Joe Jonas.

Rapper Tyga tweeted his remorse after the event, stating: “Why would I deny Paul McCartney”, and, later, “I don’t control the door. I had no knowledge Sir Paul was there. I just performed and left.”

Fellow rapper Bow Wow, who also attended Tyga’s party, was in disbelief. “Paul McCartney came to Argyle … and they wouldn’t let him in? You’ve got to be lying.”

Awks.
