The DJ Mag Top 100, an annual list of the world’s highest-grossing big room DJs, is showing us they have a sense of humour – Paul Oakenfold, Boys Noize, Afrojack, Dillon Francis, Destructo and even Alanis Morissette are campaigning for their place on the list in a new clip from Funny Or Die.
The Beatles played the Hollywood Bowl once. Oakenfold has played the Hollywood Bowl twice. Thus, Oakenfold is twice as good as The Beatles, according to the video. Afrojack gives us his spin on why crashing fancy cars is good for the economy, Dillon Francis talks about the love between a man and a burrito and Alanis Morissette admits she’s not even a DJ yet, but how hard can that shit be?
The DJ Mag Top 100 is a money-driven affair, with your favourite DJs normally investing some good moolah in promoting themselves for the title, making campaign videos and begging fans for votes. Last year there were even accusations of the magazine taking payments for positive coverage and rankings.
