Looks like big things are in store for Pearl Jam fans in 2016.
The band have just released a short teaser video, hinting at a huge tour announcement on the horizon.
The clip, which was uploaded to Facebook this morning, features the message “The wait it almost over. #PJTour2016”.
It comes after Eddie Vedder et. al. confirmed that they’d be touring this year to mark their 25th anniversary as a band.
The UK’s Metro reckons that a headlining slot at this year’s Glastonbury festival could be part of the big announcement, which – if true – would mark Pearl Jam’s first time ever playing the Worthy Farm event.
While Consequence Of Sound has reported claims from several “industry sources” that the American rockers have been locked in to headline the 2016 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. However they were not featured on the version of the lineup that recently leaked online.
Though there hasn’t yet been any indication of the nature of Pearl Jam’s tour plans, we can only hope that Australia will be on the agenda!
Pearl Jam last visited our shores to headline the now-defunct Big Day Out in 2014.
Today’s tour teaser also follows revelations by bassist Jeff Ament last August that Pearl Jam were planning to knuckle down and record their 11th studio album within the next year.
We’ll keep you up to date with any new info as it develops. In the meantime, you can check out Pearl Jam’s tour teaser clip, below.
