Perth’s Origin NYE festival just keeps expanding, and their latest edition is a special one.
For the first time in this country since 2008, all three original members of Pendulum will reunite for an exclusive DJ set, marking their only Australian show this year.
They originally reunited at this year’s Ultra Music Festival, breaking a four year hiatus, but since then they’ve gone pretty quiet again.
It’s unknown where this reunion is headed and whether there is an album on the horizon, but fans have been waiting a long time for new music. Their last record Immersion was released way back in 2010.
Gareth McGrillen and Rob Swire of the band have been performing since 2011 under the moniker of Knife Party. They have become huge in their own right, becoming one of the biggest EDM acts on the planet.
Pendulum aren’t the only exclusive to join the Origin NYE stage. A$AP Rocky and Die Antwoord will also play their only Australian show of the year there. They will be joined by Chance The Rapper, Chase & Status and Ryan Hemsworth.
Let’s hope this is a sign of more things to come for Pendulum. It’s been far too long.
